About Monks at the Monastery
There are around 24 young monks studying at Tsum Monastery. They stayed in Kathmandu during the winter, as it is very cold in Tsum, and then spent the summer in Tsum Valley. They go to a nearby Public school while in Kathmandu and go to Compassion School while in Tsum. They study basic Buddhist reading and chanting as well as ritualistic instruments at the Monastery and learn secular education at the School. Genla Acharya Pasang Tashi and Gen Ngodrup have been overseeing their studies, and Khenpo Tenzin Dorje has taken overall charge. The monastery has been providing Food, clothes, a hostel, and all the needs of the Monks. They follow a very extensive routine for six days a week and saturday is the weekend. They hold special puja during auspicious Day.
