About
Tsum Library

Tsum Library was founded by Dungse Lama Pema Rinpoche at Tsum Monastery on July 11, 2022, to preserve rare and valuable texts related to Tertön Guru Chökyi Wangchuk and the Ngak Labrang tradition. In addition, the library houses a broad collection of books representing all major Buddhist traditions. It was an aim for the local to access variety of Books in such a high and remote land.
Situated in the remote Tsum Valley, where transporting texts is often challenging, the library serves as a crucial resource for the local community. It provides access to texts for prayer, research, and spiritual exploration, supporting both traditional practice and scholarly engagement.
Since its founding, Tsum Library has published several important works:
- In 2022, it released a three-volume set on the Autobiography of Guru Chöwang and the History of Tsum related to the Ngak Labrang tradition.
- In 2023, it published a book on the History of the Three Great Stupas of Nepal and Devotion, authored by Dungse Pema Rinpoche.
- In 2024, it released a collection of Guru Chöwang’s sādhanā texts titled Treasure of the Lama, along with 3rd editions of the Tsum Prayer Book.
Almost all of these publications are also available as eBooks on Dharma eBook, making them accessible to a wider audience.
Tsum Library continues to engage in ongoing projects dedicated to preserving, publishing, and sharing the spiritual and literary heritage of Tsum, ensuring its legacy continues for future generations.
